Anyone else apply to Dartmouth Bound for this summer? Also, for anyone who has attended in the past, please feel free to share any 'reviews'.

yes, my daughter applied…I have seen some past reviews on CC. good luck

I’ve been looking for a thread like this. Thought I’d have to start one. I applied too.

Good to see some others. My Standardized test scores are not where the need to be, but hopefully other things will give me a boost. If not, nothing lost from trying.
I thought decisions would be out by now…
Good luck to others who applied.

I’m so nervous!!! I really hope I get in! :// they said by the 25th! 4 days!!!

Ugh I’m really nervous too. I hope it comes before that. My stats were alright but idk if my essays were on par…

I had a quirky, funny, laid back teacher do my rec. I just hope he was not TOO laid back and failed to get it in.

I liked my essays but I feel like they were pretty similar in subject (both were about my involvement in the performing arts) and I don’t know if that will count against me! Either way, I thought that they were well written so I guess we’ll see! In also number 1 in my class so I’m hoping that will help too!! I wish you guys all luck and make sure to post if you got in or not when you find out here! :)

I still haven’t heard back yet…has anyone else? They are supposed to tell us by the 25…NERVOUS!

Anyone know how they will notify us…email or regular mail? I have a college interview tomorrow that I need to prep for and go to, so at least I will have that to distract me from wondering about this decision throughout the day.

They let us know by email tomorrow!

I hope we all get it ! Goodluck guys. Post if you guys get in/when you get emails. Fingers crossed !

Hi!

Does anyone know the correlation between attendees of Dartmouth Bound and applicants actually admitted to Dartmouth?

From old threads on this site there were certainly people who attended DB and later were rejected by admissions. So, I don’t think it is at all a guarantee of admissions. But at least by going you know that you are on their radar and have a chance (I think) to meet with admissions officers while there.
By the same token, not getting in to DB would not at all mean that you would not get in to Dartmouth. I think it would be great to get a chance to feel out the campus and environment more than anything, if you are not even sure if you want to apply.
Statistically, it would be good to find out the correlation Mantis speaks of though.

mantis2014, There appears to be a difference of opinion on the subject (what a surprise!). Here’s a older thread that touched on it: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/dartmouth-college/1133546-dartmouth-bound-program.html?highlight=dartmouth+bound

Since Dartmouth foots the bill, I would have to think there is a significant boost from being accepted. They’re unlikely to bring someone in they don’t think will meet their standards, although test scores/essays/grades/interests/desired mix in the admitted class would matter more in the end I would think.

I applied to the program as well and I’m super nervous!!!

I did the program last summer and the admissions officers told us about 80% of the participants end up getting in. I think this includes those who are deferred and waitlisted.

has anyone heard back? and or knows around what time other participants have heard? I keep freaking out when I get an e-mail so I am super anxious!

The suspense is killing me. I’ve been checking every five minutes.

Sometimes… They even delay a whole day to tell us! I can’t take it!!
