ya so ur date on CSS didnt change, same as me

My theory on mid Feb to mid March dates is that perhaps they indicate a student’s application made it to the Committee process. (Or bypassed that process as an applicant selected for a Likely Letter).

According to the podcast episode last week from the Dean of Admissions, those dates would seem to coincide with the timing of the committee process, and he indicated that many applicants do not make it to the committee process so maybe that is how financial aid triages in order to run financial aid package numbers on a slightly smaller set of students rather than on the full applicant pool? Its great to make it to the committee process, but many who do will still be waitlisted or rejected. (Or it could be that the date indicates having actually made it through Committee without being rejected and different applicants will go through that at different times so there could be some variation in dates). Maybe they’ll still run those numbers and download those files for those who are waitlisted after Committee and not only for admits? And even if designated for admission after Committee with a full financial aid package compiled, an applicant can still be shaped out of the class later in March as everything comes together.

In any case, not much longer now until everyone knows the outcome. Good luck to all!

Based on this would having no date change or having dates purely in January and early February be an indicator of a rejection?

I don’t think anyone knows, (and I know there are many other schools where that is not the case). But for now, we wait. :woman_shrugging:

Did anyone’s CSS change Date?

The CSS date won’t change from the original date it was sent to the school.

Would they go out of their way to send a personalized email to a student regarding their financial aid documents and asking for more if they were rejected/waitlisted? Just wondering!

well thats a relief, thanks and good luck to you!

If we don’t have any dates changed in our FA portal, is it then safe to assume we didn’t get in?

i wouldnt think so
i got a personal email from dartmouth (march 1st), brown (march 14), and yale (march 13 + 14) and those are the schools my financial aid dates updated to march (my FA dates updated to march for duke too and I ended up getting a likely) so im seeing correlation

tbh I dont think so, the best sign is an FA email, lets wait and see tomorrow because honestly all this portal astrology is draining and useless.

Do you know if it’s possible to block CC from my browser until after tomorrow? Genuine question

What are your FA dates for Duke?

Thanks, you too!!

Does anyone see “award letter date” on their CSS profile?

No, but I don’t believe it means much. I have award dates for schools that rejected me.
