Did you all actually receive the email announcing the release date of ED results? Thanks.
Yes, I did.
I did as well! guys im so nervous I can like literally imagine myself shaking when I see the email that the results have come out :////
Ahhh good luck to all of you! I’m so excited and nervous but I’ve just been telling myself I won’t get in anyway so there’s no point in obsessing over it. That way, if I don’t get in I’ll be expecting it but if I do, it’s all the more exciting. I wish we could all get it!
@Seungheehan1 I will echo what others have said, but here are some more numbers regarding students applying to Dartmouth from Korea. Unfortunately, I do not have the breakdown between ED and RD. Note that these are Koreans applying from Korea - not Koreans applying from anywhere else.
Class / # applied / # enrolled
2018 / 451 / 9
2019 / 477 / 8
2020 / 370 / 7
I don’t have the 2021 numbers in front of me. Not sure if these numbers make you feel better or worse, but good luck tomorrow.
Any Chicago people STILL receiving invites to the luncheon tomorrow even though applicants were “uninvited” after they realized notification is the same day? Not a fan of the alumni club right now…
Lol, one of my really good friends just got into Harvard ED and now people are asking about what college I applied to. RIP me on Thursday.
@maybeDmom I’m an alum from a different region, and I want to apologize for the debacle with the Chicago Alumni Association. They really dropped the ball with the invitations. I’m sure the alums there were just excited to welcome the new class to the Dartmouth family, but they should have double checked everything first. Hopefully, they will learn from this experience and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Best of luck to your child.
@debrees So I don’t know too much about the technical side of how gap year students factor in. I bet that the admissions office adds them at the end or maybe to the ED pool.
I just added them to the ED pile as if they were locked in, thereby increasing the yield. Again, I don’t really know how the College does it. In any case, ED applicants and RD applicants that show a lot of interest about Dartmouth in their essays will have a high chance of getting accepted. The new admissions director, who is the ex-dean of admissions of Tufts, has brought in some of the strategies used there. I think that he has been implementing some of his old tricks and strategies on getting more applicants and increasing the yield to make Dartmouth seem more selective on paper. Definitely don’t worry too much about it. Do you know when the decisions come out? Good luck!
@KeggyGreen Thanks for the reply! Decisions come out tomorrow at 4pm EST
