Dartmouth D-Plan

I am a prospective Dartmouth student if I get lucky (ACT- 34, SAT- 2160, 4.34 GPA, IB DIPLOMA STUDENT ETC.)
This whole D-Plan thing freaks me out!
Can someone explain the dates of when a student leaves for college, gets back, and takes breaks?

We start in late September. Winter break is roughly December 7-Jan 7. Spring break lines up with other schools'. Spring term finals start next week.

It's really not a big difference. The schedule is like that of any other school on the quarter system (Chicago, Stanford, any of the UCs).

One aspect of the D-plan is that most sophomores traditionally spend the summer on campus. This lets students take an off term sometime during the regular school year to do what they want. Your competition is significantly reduced if you're looking to get an internship during this time.

The D-Plan also allows you to study abroad multiple times.

nai & pramirez, so you’re saying that the timing isn’t really so different from other schools? just that sophomores typically spend summer on campus so they can have a semester for internship/study abroad? that doesn’t sound too bad to me, but i’m not sure… and i realize this post is significantly later than the original post, so superscs, what did you decide?
