Dartmouth Decisions

Well, one rejection down, three more to go. Anyone else get news from over in Hanover?

Rejected as well, shows that threre are just too many applicants for too few spots.

I'm sorry to hear that... I'm sure you'll get into one of your other choices. I just got my decision and I got in. I'm so excited... thank you all for your help and support. I hope you all get great news soon.

Wow congrats Eddie, what major did you apply for?

Here is the url to my stats post:

I applied as a freshman transfer. I had a 4.0 at UF and my essays were pretty good. I did not, however, enter UF with the idea of transfering... I don't think it is a good idea to go to college with that mindset as you will be miserable during your tenure and it will show in your essays. I did not apply as a freshman to any of the schools I applied to as a transfer if that is pertinent.

Good luck next year Newby, I have read many of your posts in the Dartmouth forum and believe you deserve to be a part of the Big Green community.

CNCL: I applied as an Engineering/Physics major.

I was also rejected ED as a freshman applicant, and was applying as a philosophy major. Congrats Eddie. high five

Eddie, reading your stats etc. you are really what Dartmouth is looking for. Good job and you will really love it if you go there.

Good luck next time guys, keep the GPA up and get involved with ECs, they still matter. Good luck Eddie, that's awesome. You'll love Dartmouth.

Argh, now I know why I was rejected. Cursed F key for being next to the D...

Hey Calipharius, I remember seeing a post of yours a while back, and noticing that were applying to virtually the same schools. Oh yeah, and I'm also a Philosophy major/double-time reject of Dart. I've actually grown to hate that school lately, though. It's not as great as it seems: alcoholism, economics (blah!) majors galore, COLD weather (my friend there tells me his snot freezes in the winter), plus, have you seen the women there? not terribly impressive. But anyway, good luck with the rest of your schools, comrade. Hopefully this isn't a lovely little harbinger of the near future for us.

I hear you Jane. It was my second rejection from the College, too. Oh well...crosses fingers

If I sign the intention to enroll statement now , can I pull out later if I get into my top choice?

You can always contact your top choice and ask them to release their decision because you have to notify Dartmouth soon. Or you can always contact Dartmouth and ask them to extend the notification date for you, I'm sure they'll understand.
