<p>I’m not so sure. I went to a research university (Columbia) my first year and transferred to a coddling Dartmouth. I would say that the opportunities awarded to me at Dartmouth were exponentially better - and did me well in the longrun. You leave with a much more “can do” feeling and the real world is much less intimidating because you are used to getting things done. And I would say that Dartmouth students in no way would interview worse than Cornell ones, that seems completely ridiculous.</p>
<p>A median grade of a B is far from coddling.</p>
<p>Cornell is very strong in the sciences and will prepare you well for medical school.</p>
