Dartmouth Questions

I was at Dartmouth for my second time this past weekend. I am heavily considering it for ED. I have a couple questions, though, and it would be great if anyone could answer them.

1) What would the social scene be like if I am not too much of a winter sports person (I am outgoing and all that...just not one for mountains and such)

2) What is the easiest way to get from Dartmouth to NYC?

3) What are the dorms like. Everyone I've asked says they are "fine," which I assume is code for a little subpar

4) How significant is the difference in acceptance between going ED and regular?

5) Are there ever any big concerts at Dartmouth?

6) Obviously the frats are the center of the social scene at Dartmouth, but does any of the social life take place in dorms?

7) What do people think of Jim Yong Kim

8) What is there in Hanover as far as restaurants for a college budget, movie theaters, and other places of note?

Thanks!

1) Hang out on campus. There will be plenty of stuff going on, as always.

2) There’s a bus that runs from Dartmouth to NYC.

3) They’re above average. You can get rooms that are as nice as hotel rooms in McLaughlin or East Wheelock, or you can get slightly above average rooms in the Choates.

4) Significant. ED demonstrates interest.

5) Yes. Ke$ha will be here on Oct. 25.

6) Yes.

7) Everybody loves him. Seriously.

8) Restaurants in town: EBAs, Ramunto’s, Molly’s, Salt Hill Pub, Jewel of India, Yama, Lou’s, etc. There are plenty. There’s one movie theater: The Nugget. The Hop shows a lot of movies, though. For example, it screened The Social Network a few days before it was released. Others: there’s a bowling alley.

If you want the city life, I’d suggest hopping on a bus to Boston. My roommate went last weekend.
