we are not, so the debate rages on.

If we're going by selectivity I guess that makes Brigham Young University-Hawaii better than Dartmouth.

I remember 1995-95, it was so cool. I was president of the NU alumni club here in northern California and we were all so excited! What a trip going to the Rose Bowl, we were all walking around looking at each other like "What the hell are we doing here?"

How about Deep Springs better than Harvard if we go by selectivity? LOL

don't want to disturb anything, but if you are talking about selectivity, then dartmouth beats northwestern any day

don't want to disturb anything, but if you are talking about well-known programs, then northwestern beats dartmouth any day ;)

Cornell is better than Duke regardless of whether or not it is in a sports league with Harvard or Princeton...

DMC - before you and Slipper (also a chronic Cornell basher) get all riled up, let me state clearly that this is my personal opinion, plain and simple.

de gustibus non est disputandum

My proposal is to settle this on the Lacrosse field. Duke is ranked 2nd and Cornell 3rd. Perhaps they'll meet in the playoffs.

Care to engage in a friendly wager?

holy s h i t, hasn't the kid decided where to go already? northwestern and dartmouth are both great schools; those who are pro one school will always find reasons why it's better than the other.

LOL! Considering >50% of the population in this country supported the war, I am not surprised to see a war zone on CC board! :)

Cornell is better than Duke, Wharf? Ahahahahaha...ok. THe worst ivy can't touch us anyday. I would pull out the rankings, but I don't wanna hurt your feelings.

We could settle this over a basketball game, but I said I didn't want to hurt your feelings.

PS: OWNED! lol

Wharf Rat: "My proposal is to settle this on the Lacrosse field. Duke is ranked 2nd and Cornell 3rd. Perhaps they'll meet in the playoffs."

Yeah, I agree but let's have the women decide it! (the Northwestern men are too busy perfecting their football prowess to care). Northwestern is ranked #1, Duke #2, Dartmouth #4, and Cornell well they're not ranked but they're invited if they can find their way to the field. We can beat your rumps in anything we have a team in!

Fine!!!! The women would be easier to watch also. lol

Hormesis3 & DMC,

HAHA!

Nice switheroo - I pick a sport with virtual parity between Duke and Cornell and you guys inject the women... notice how I didn't pick Men's Ice Hockey or Command of the Mars Rover Mission...

As I said "de gustibus non est disputandum"

Go Blue Devils and Wildcats!

Both schools are awesome!

Lol!!!!!!!!

Go 'Cats (WCAS '08!!!!!!)

did the original person pick?

Nope. He decided that it was such a hard decision that he is better off just going to a community college. :D

Whatever he decided, it better be Northwestern!

"Whatever he decided, it better be Northwestern!"
-Ah, finally some truth!

I feel asleep a week or so ago; have you guys finally worked this all out?

Kalidescope: "have you guys finally worked this all out?"

Yes, the Council of Ivy Group Presidents has decided to remove Dartmouth from the Ivy League and replace them with Northwestern beginning in 2006. Dartmouth has decided to join the Big East where their more natural academic and sports rival, the DePaul Blue Demons, will also become a member.
