Ok, i got the Dartmouth 'likely' letter and im going to Dimensions in April. Since 7th grade, Dartmouth was my dream school, but my parents want me to wait to hear from Princeton. If i get into Princeton then i MUST go to Princeton, because my parents want me closer to home (I literally live less than 10 min away from Princeton campus), so i basically have no choice in the school i attend since my dad is paying for college. Can anyone give evidence of why Dartmouth is better than Princeton, so that I can convince my parents that Dartmouth is the right school for me.

It doesn't exist. It's a matter of personality, both yours and the schools.

They are two of the best schools on earth. A majority would say Princeton is the more prestigious: it is.

But were really biting the nickel here: theyre both real and substantially great schools, great cash value and intellectual currency.

Who's paying?
Who's attending?

Find a golden mean or resign yourself to Princeton. Good luck.

Hope you make it here...it's a wonderful place to be.

Dartmouth is better socially. Princeton is dominated by eating clubs while Dartmouth's frats are actually much friendlier and the outdoors makes it amazing. Dartmouth has a better study abroad program, sophomore summer makes it amazing, and in the end both will get you into similar jobs/ grad school.

FountainSiren ,

thanks for the advice. my dad is pretty stoked about me getting into Dartmouth, so i still have a chance of going there. i think it fits me better personality-wise...i will be able to get the best education yet have fun....i heard that ppl at dartmouth are down-to-earth...im def looking forward to dimensions...did u like it?

Last year a friend of mine was admitted into Harvard Princeton and Dartmouth

He chose Dartmouth because he loved the location and the people more than the others on his visits, and he is definitely happy he made that decision one year later. The quality of education, he tells me, is Unparalleled as well. But pretty much, go where your best fit is.
