Please help me... (Freaking out right now!)

I signed up to take my first SAT back in June, but I could not take the SAT on that day because I had a huge family emergency. So now, I am a high school senior, and I haven't taken my SAT, ACT, or any SAT II subject tests (terrible, I know =[). I registered to take my first SAT this October.

I'm looking into universities (such as Stanford) that "highly recommend" applicants to take at least -2- SAT subject tests. I know there are only two more dates to take the SAT's left (besides the one in October, there is one in November and the other in December).

I'm really confused as to how the dates for the subject tests work. I think they're administered on the same days that the regular SAT is administered, but are they administered at the same time? (Which means that I can only take one or the other?)

The reason I'm asking is because if they're admistered at the same date and time as the regular SAT, that means that if I plan on taking -2- subject tests I only have one try to take the regular SAT. Am I completely wrong or is there something else I can do to be able to take the regular SAT at least twice and still take two subject tests?
