Davidson College Book List Question

As I’m finishing applying to Davidson, I am finishing my book list.

  1. Should I include plays? I have read Shakespeare, Streetcar Named Desire, and Hedda Gabler for my AP class. Pretty lengthy plays to read. Should those be included?

  2. Also, I enjoy a pretty good Nicholas Sparks book every once and a while, would they look at it funny if I include those?
    Other than that, my list includes pretty professional books such as Roots and Jane Eyre (both for leisure), etc. About 17 books in all.

@sydney164 My S recently completed his Davidson application and I thought the book list was a very interesting thing to ask for. I think you should include plays you have read. I also think you should include the Nicholas Sparks books. I think showing the range of what you’ve read, particularly the stuff that’s not required for school, shows some personality. Don’t forget to put an asterisk by the ones you’ve had to read for school.
