Davidson College/July experience info. Social life and campus vibes???

Hi I’m an international student and I have been accepted to Davidson college’s July experience program. From what I researched about Davidson, it’s a really good college academically and has a good community. But I’m not sure whether the experience would be worthwhile and my parents are concerned about the other students there. Since I’m a really small guy and too polite, they think “foreign teens” will be unfriendly and unwelcoming to the point of danger. I know that’s ridiculous but I AM concerned about fitting in with the US high school students. From what I have seen about US high schools on the internet, bullying shorter or ‘wierd’ kids is common. I know that’s a huge generalization but can anyone who has ever been to this program before or an undergrad there tell me about the social life at Davidson. And what is the campus ‘vibe’ or feel like and is the campus vibrant or isolated as it seems in pictures? What’s the weather like? I’m also thinking of applying here ED so need to know all I can.

Congratulations on your acceptance.

I think every teen going away to a college summer program will be nervous and scared. Davidson is a beautiful campus which will be pretty hot in the summer but the dorms are nice. There is a strong religious community serving all religions and seems to be good health services. Charlotte is a big city that is an international banking center and only 20 miles away. I wouldnt call it isolated in Davidson. More like an exurb. I expect theres field trips to lake campus and charlotte. There are good ice cream shops.
While i cant speak to the summer social life for students i think you can tell your parents its a pretty safe environment.
