My D has gotten very generous offers from both schools, and we have family connections at both places–so we understand that one can get a fine liberal arts education in both the South and the North. Any thoughts? (I was a Southerner educated at a prestigious Northern school, which I felt was smart but narrow-minded.) Also, I think both colleges have phenomenal presidents.
Wesleyan swings a little more liberal, a little more hipster, more focus on the artistic side - film, music scene, etc. - while still being very strong in the sciences.
Davidson is preppier, warmer weather (obviously) if that is important.
Which school seems like a better fit for your daughter’s personality? What areas of study interest her? Which is closer to home?
Congrats on 2 great choices!
You might might want to ask this in the Davidson or Wesleyan forum rather than the Brown forum.
