Davidson Waitlist Update?

Has anyone found out any new information on the waitlist? I know the school was anticipating overenrollment, which would mean no kids will get off the waiting list, does anyone know if this actually happened?

As promised, we write to update you on your position on the waiting list for the Davidson Class of 2012.

As of today, our goal of 470 students in this class has been exceeded. In light of this, we have determined that we will be unable to offer you a place in the Class of 2012. We wanted you to know this news as soon as possible as you had expressed interest in remaining on the wait list.

All of us in admission and financial aid have been gratified to learn of your interest in attending Davidson. I am confident that you are the caliber of student who will contribute in important ways at your chosen institution. Thank you for the excellent work you did on your application to Davidson.

Best wishes as you continue your academic endeavors.

Sincerely,
Eleanor W. Payne
Senior Associate Dean

i got the same e-mail yesterday. the process was especially long as I got deferred early decision, waitlisted regular, then finally the shutdown of the waitlist. i knew that there were not going to be many spots this year from the waitlist partially due to the success of the basketball team and general media attention the school received. anyway, i was studying (a little) for psychology when i got this email, then just decided that the AP didnt matter at that point. turned out the exam was a complete joke anyhow. where will you be going next year ice?

I don't know if this will have an impact on Davidson's wait list but according to the New York Times Harvard will be pulling 150-175 from their wait list. Princeton and U of Pennsylvania 90. Yale 45. Amherst 15-25. Swarthmore & Pomona 15-20. That would be expected to have a domino effect.
