one of my safety schools, although i suppose it doesn't matter cause i got into ucla. but they did send me the whole regent's scholarship thing

yo Chrisr88 dont be discouraged...you should APPEAL...without a doubt those stats should have gotten u in to davis

Funny. Anyone get a scholarship? I got one for 2k/year...I forgot the name of it. I didn't get Regent's though (was it because I didn't apply FAFSA?), but oh well. Riverside's still more appealing to me though since I got Regent's there + Honors Program...Ehhh.

I had an undeclared major and I'm in state... I don't understand the rejection now either. How exactly does the appeal process work?

Congratulations to all of you who got in. For those who are considering Davis as a safety, that's great. But I GUARANTEE it won't be a safety for long.

Here's a little encouragement to go to UC Davis:

Its the biggest UC Campus as of right now, which means that the state wants to run it to full capacity, but we're not there yet. So they have two ways of getting more students to go, accept a larger percent and/or massively improve the school. California is doing both.

Here are some highlights of the past 5 years:

How to Appeal:

May I appeal my denial of admission?
We strongly encourage you to select a campus to which you have been admitted, as very few appeals are granted. If you choose to appeal, your letter should describe information not included in your original application. This may be compelling information regarding personal circumstances and its impact on your academic performance, or possible errors in your application. You should include your fall 2005 and/or winter 2006 courses and grades, and your current spring 2006 courses. You must write the appeal; an appeal written on your behalf (by a parent, counselor, etc.) will not be accepted. Appeals will not be accepted by phone, fax or e-mail, and interviews will not be granted.

Appeals must be in writing and directed to:

Admissions Review Committee
Undergraduate Admissions
University of California
One Shields Ave.
Davis, CA 95616-8507
Appeal letters must be received by April 14, 2006. Appeal decisions will be released by April 28. You may monitor the status of your appeal on MyAdmissions. Because your written appeal is reviewed by a committee, we are unable to discuss it with you in person, over the phone or via e-mail.
