If AU doesn’t offer a particular class, how easy is it to take classes through the DC Consortium at a member school? Thanks!

It’s very easy to sign up to take classes with the DC consortium. However, it depends on how full the class is at the time and what class you want to take in order for you to assess if you can get in the class. For example, I need to take Advanced Korean at Georgetown or George Washington U, and since there are a low amount of students who take Advanced Korean in general, it’s easy to register and get in the class. If there are a high amount of students who need to take a certain class, you get the worst registration date. It depends on what class. Speak to your academic adviser when you get here. It shouldn’t be a huge problem.

Thanks, that’s helpful! I was actually asking for my sister, who is torn between UMD and AU. I think she likes the attention that AU can provide, but is a little concerned about the variety of course offerings (especially in the sciences). Do you know if a lot of students tend to take advantage of the DC consortium?
