Does anyone know whether DC residents are treated as CA residents for purposes of admission to CA state universities? I'm not referring to the tuition break that DC residents get if they attend state universities elsewhere, but the actual admissions criterion. We had heard third-hand that DC residents are considered as CA residents for purposes of admissions to CA public universities.
Thanks.

No. They are treated as OOS residents.

No way…

Why would DC residents be considered CA residents?

DC residents get instate tuition at all state universities, because they do not have their own “state” university, per say. all the colleges in DC are private, and so to provide them with a low cost public option the way residents of every other US state are, they are considered in state. apparently this does not apply to california? although i dont see why it shouldnt.

never mind
