So I decided that I really want to attend USC’s school of cinematic arts (since I’m intent of pursuing a visual effects career), but unfortunately (and expectedly), I got rejected. Hence, I figured that I can attend a community college first to fix my awful GPA back then, but I’m confused on the major I should go for.
In De Anza, they provide these following art-based majors:
- Graphic Design
- Graphic Design- Interactive Design
- Film/TV Production- Animation
- Art- Ceramics Option
- Art- History Option
- Art- Painting Option
- Art- Sculpture Option
Can anyone suggest which major I should go for? It may seem obvious that I should take animation, but then again, I’d also like to apply to the UC’s (such as UCB or UCLA) whose film course seems broader and less art-centric (therefore, maybe I’ll apply for their art major not their film major). Should I go for Art-Painting or Film/TV Production - Animation? Or the others? Thank you for your responses!
