DE, PSU or Drexel for Chemical Engineering

It’s getting to be that time with 4 “reach” schools of Penn, Yale, UVA and Tufts; one of which is an Early Decision (finding out on Thursday).
Part of Plan B includes Drexel, Delaware and Penn State.

Any insight into Chemical Engineering at Drexel vs. Delaware vs. Penn State?
I think any of these seven schools would be awesome, but just wondering if anyone has experience to share (with any of the three in the title or any of those listed too).
THANKS!!!

Delaware has a very, very strong chem e program with great industry ties.

Plan B might be better than plan A. Delaware as big very big in this subject for a long time.

Penn State is not direct admit. For my kids, that was a deal breaker.

Delaware is the best in Chem E without a doubt.

You didn’t say your home state. With Penn, Yale and such as your top 4, I will assume your stats are the tops. If you were planning Penn State Honors College and are in state, I think that gives Penn State an edge over Delaware

Thanks. Am just very grateful for the results of hard work, great teachers and remarkable opportunities. The top 4 are a reach for anyone, but I’ll know in less than 5 days. There might even be “better”, but my top choice is well-rounded to the extreme. My one concern about Delaware is that if things change about Chemical Engineering would there maybe be more opportunities for discovery at the other schools? Again, they’re all great. Not a wrong or “best” choice, but just trying to clarify my thinking. Really appreciated and thanks a ton.

The top chemical engineering programs are U of Minnesota, MIT, UT Austin, Georgia Tech, Caltech, Penn Engineering , and Berkeley, so one of the list in your plan A. . Look for strong chemistry programs as well, and most of these have that too.

Dupont Labs was very tied to U of Delaware and has now merged with Dow Chemical and still in Delaware-

Yale is not really an engineering college, although its always looking to grow their engineering departments, and you can major in engineering, , Penn Engineering is the same as MIT, so you have a wide variety there
on quality of engineering. Yale is good in math and the sciences though. Tufts is a liberal arts college with good engineering. UVA OK in engineering.

Drexel is very hands on, so not quite the same as the others.
