deadlines nearing, I'm still at the starting line!

Persian ( I was born in Iran so English as my second language) at well known private school in houston
B- GPA (taking 2 English AP's this year)
710 writing 640 math 590 verbal (retaking next saturday to raise 1230 to possible 1300+)
main EC's: senior governing council representative, secretary of sports reporters club, 3 years of newspaper
great essay that I have been working on for months
horrible rec's (I'm just kidding, the teachers at my school are great magicians)

I think I have an idea of what type of college I want to go to: medium sized, quirky liberal arts school with great underground music, movie scenes and involved inturmural sports (especially ultimate frisbee).

I really dont mind the location but I thing that matters most to me is costs. Since my family has had to pay all 4 years of private school even though we're only middle class, aid is essential.

So, any schools in mind?

OBERLIN! They have all of those things, they have a cool UF team named The Flying Horsecows! I don't know what qualifies as medium-sized, but it has about 2,800 students.

for music and movies, I would look toward urban liberal arts schools. You will have to raise your SATs to qualify at the most selective ones, but here are three to give some strong consideration. . .Lewis and Clark (Portland), Pitzer (LA suburb) and Lake Forest (Chicago).
