I think everyone connected with Swarthmore is sad to see this news. He exudes kindness and good humor. He'll leave a lasting legacy on the school. After hearing him speak to the parents during orientation, I truly felt that our kids were in good hands. That "trust" makes Swarthmore very special.

I concur. Bob Gross is amazing, and while I am sad to see him leave Swat, the man deserves his retirement! He really impressed me at freshman orientation during a conversation when I realized that he had not only read D's essays, but he remembered what she wrote! How rare!

Yup, the first person my son talked to who was in the administration was Bob Gross...he was so kind to him! I am amazed how he does it with so many students every year, year in and year out!

I hope they can find someone who displays a comparable balance of compassion, humor, and understanding. I have always been impressed by Bob Gross every time I've heard him address a group of parents.

I am sad to learn about this too! He is a fine man, truly concerned about the students in his charge. When DD had to go into the hospital her freshman year, he actually called to check on her! Is that cool or what!
