Dean's Scholars Open House

Hello,

I am an applicant to the Dean's Scholars Program, but did not gain acceptance in the first round. I did, however, just receive and email about the open house event on February 20 for "the most competitive applicants."

Has anyone had experience with this? If so, what does this mean in terms of admission? Do I have a higher chance?

Thanks!!

I am wondering the same thing at the moment. I thought since that because it has been so long, I didn’t get into Dean’s Scholars, but I received the same e-mail today.

I am just as confused as you.

Well, I got my acceptance back in December. I’m not really sure if they are still accepting people this late, but I could be wrong. Your best bet would be to email them back or call them.

Generally, if you got an invite to the open house, you’re in.
I can’t comment on this officially, though.

I just got an acceptance letter in the mail today with an invite to the open house!

Congrats, kittenz! I’m sure the remainder of your senior year will be much more enjoyable now. See you around campus!

I was also super confused when I got the email. Then I got an actual letter in the mail and in it was an acceptance letter and the invitation to the open house. So I guess all is well?

and kittenz? how did you know you didn’t get accepted the first round? UT went completely silent to me after I submitted my app.

Such are the benefits of College Confidential

Congrats to you too, mecsquared!

When did you guys apply? I’m still waiting for a reply and I’m freaking out! O.o

he knew it was the second round most likely because people had posted back in december about getting in and going to the open house on 01/27.

Woot. I got got an acceptance letter as well.

Also, congrats to kittenz and mecsquared! I guess we might see each other.

Yeah, many people posted they got in back around Christmas, so I assumed I wasn’t going to get in at all!
