I am an applicant to the Dean's Scholars Program, but did not gain acceptance in the first round. I did, however, just receive and email about the open house event on February 20 for "the most competitive applicants."

Has anyone had experience with this? If so, what does this mean in terms of admission? Do I have a higher chance?

I am wondering the same thing at the moment. I thought since that because it has been so long, I didn’t get into Dean’s Scholars, but I received the same e-mail today.

Well, I got my acceptance back in December. I’m not really sure if they are still accepting people this late, but I could be wrong. Your best bet would be to email them back or call them.

I was also super confused when I got the email. Then I got an actual letter in the mail and in it was an acceptance letter and the invitation to the open house. So I guess all is well?

and kittenz? how did you know you didn’t get accepted the first round? UT went completely silent to me after I submitted my app.
