is my cal grant already included in the federal pell grant? if my family income is about 20000 dollars, will any of the grant increase?

and how much debt does people with similar epal has after graduate from UCLA? (in 2 years cause i am a transfer student)

Doesn’t look like you got any CalGrant money. My ePAL actually says Cal Grant I think. But because of that my scholarship recognition award is only like 6 grand, not 10 like you have. Odd.

Well, look at the numbers, if you take out the Staffords they’re offering you, after two years you’ll have $11,000 in subsidized and $800 in unsubsidized, give or take whatever changes BHO makes for next year’s limits, which won’t be more than a thousand or two max.

Of course, it’s totally different if you get a credit card and ring up a few thousand on there (gotta pay for that spring break trip somehow!).

I have an almost identical package, with $8900 not covered by gift aid, seems like that’s UCLA’s standard for $0 EFC families. I’m not going to take out the loans though, I’m gonna try to cover expenses with a work-study job (you can keep working after you’ve used up your work-study limit, the department just has to pay a bigger share of your wages). So I’m gonna graduate debt free, it’s worth thinking about if you can somehow cover the first quarter’s payment. The $8900 isn’t all billed, remember, since that includes books and “personal expenses.” By my calculations you only have to pay UCLA less than a thousand a quarter; you can spend less than $8900 if you buy your books online, don’t eat out as often, etc.

If you go here you can view your Calgrant status online, it’ll tell you why you weren’t approved:

<a href=“CSAC - Student Landing Home”>CSAC - Student Landing Home;

Mine says something like “Scores below cutoff,” whatev, as nodnarb says, Calgrants just reduce your SRA.

when i went in there to check my status, it displays Davis as my college of attandence but i only send SIR to UCLA… so what should i do now?

Once you logon using the link in UCLAboi’s post, check the status of your CalGrant. Where it says your school of attendance it should have a link that says “School Change”
just click that and change your school of attendance.

well i cant change the school so i call them, and it turns out that for renewal student, i can only change the school in june… so has to wait. Well I just hope that UCLA wont reduce the recognition schoolar ship tho. thanks for all the help.
