Hey,

Are any of you guys in DECA in your school? What type of activities do you guys do? What did you like doing, what's your favorite aspect of the club?

I'm looking for some ideas, I'd appreciate any input. :)

Hey,

We don't have DECA at our school...I think. What is it?

its a club about Marketing and Business, sort of like Future Business Leaders of America.

It stands for Distribution Education Clubs of America.

anyone in this club around here?

We have DECA in my school, but I'm not in it.

^ same here. We have FBLA too.

FBLA is similar, if you are in it, or you know of it, what type of activities do they do? I am just looking for ideas of things that our DECA chapter could do.

I'm in DECA, though mainly because the club is combined with FBLA in our school. Our club just competed in district DECA competitions today, so that's the most obvious activity you could do (I got 2nd in e-commerce, yeahhh!!! Despite the fact that this is my first time and I never really bothered to prepare). My club tends to revolve around the competitions, as we do fund raisers to finance it. We also do some fund raisers for other goals, and we also set up a coffee/candy shop in the school cafeteria.

Nice, finally! So Ray, what type of fundraisers do you do then? We also have a couple competitions coming up too, so fundraisers is really what I'm talking about. Though I also believe that DECA requires community service hours too.

There is not community service requirement in my DECA that I know of.

Fundraisers... I'm new so I'm not an expert, but recently we organized a dinner party with a local restauraunt sponsoring, and last year the clud also did a talent show. We also do the routine money collection stuff from the classes.

Right now there's a nice fund raiser going on, where 4 teams of teachers grow beards (don't shave at all), and each homeroom class picks a team and gives money for it. In the end of a few weeks the team that gets the most money has their beards shaven in a wacky way. It's pretty cool.

..i assume ur not talking about academic decathalon

No, arklogic, I wish there was one in our school though,. I'm talking about Distribution Education Clubs of America..
