For the past year, my heart has been devoted fully to the college admissions process, reading every book there is out there, taking standardized tests, doing as best as I can in school, etc etc.

Now it is my time to apply to some top notch places....Brown, Swarthmore, Lehigh, Johns Hopkins....and one of the most important aspects of the application, the essay, remains a blank page.

So many ideas have gone through my head and I have written many drafts, but none seem great enough to live up to the quota that college essays are supposed to be.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a person in my position? I have two weeks and that's it. Please, help me, somehow.

i was in the same situation as you a month ago when i applied ed. I made some drafts, etc. but i realized the really good essays just come and hits you when you least expect it. Believe me it'll come, just think about yourself and what you'd like to say. One day the perfect essay just hit me and i just started typing away. I didn't even have a rough draft. I sent the first thing i typed to my college and apparently it was good enough for them.

I was in your shoes around October. I just sat down and wrote, my first draft turned out to be pretty bad but it helped me get started. A blank page is more intimidating than a page of errors in my opinion. Once you get started, the hard part's over. Well kind of, I had to put up being called shallow and being psycho analyzed by my AP Lit teacher whenever I asked for help.
