December 2007 World History

euros and trade= something like movement of different foods and animals all over the globe

Excellent! Let's have more.
During 1500-1900 period, the population increased rapidly/or something like that.

thats in there

wow 83 :)

im sure collegeboard would be impressed

Will the curve be 15 or 10?

no idea. we cant know until someone gets their score

wait isnt between 15-20?

That's too much I think.

the one i took in cb was high 70's and kaplan has straight 80. so its looking like 15-20

the result of the influx of gold into Europe from Americas: inflation

There is such question?

i dont remember that one
practice test?

Question 28 (East Africa long distance trade), from Kaplan:

"By 1500, distant areas of the globe were involved in either long-distance trade networks or in active local trade routes. The Indian Ocean linked CHINA WITH EAST AFRICA, and the Silk Roads conneceted China with the Mediterranean world..." Page 194

Answer must be China then, not Arab world.

hmm 12 more.

yeah, thats true. but that doesnt mean that they werent already trading with the arabs, which they were.

so i dunno what theyre looking for

But Arab World is obviously more engaged in trade with Africa than China. Chinese plus has closed themselves to the outside world during Ming Dynasty in 1500. Kaplan has it wrong here.

Read Ming Dynasty Ming Dynasty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to the list I've got about 10 wrong, and others I'm not sure about.

I don't understand the Catherine/Peter question. Both modernized Russia.

The question asked about LONG DISTANCE sea trade. Trade with North Africa- land routes. Arabia- short distance. India- not Arab and a majority Hindus.

supposedly peter was more about westernization. im finding more about catherine modernizing as an enlightened despot than peter modernizaing as an absolute ruler.

Even if both modernized Russia, Peter modernized more than Catherine and brought more revolutionary changes. So it'd be Peter.

What is the exact wording of the Swahili trading question again?

distance is relative. i dunno, i feel like it could be either. i guess well find out soon enough.

nah i still say catherine for the modernizing one

I have to to argue that whereas Peter the Great oversaw the general westernization and eventual modernization of Russia, Catherine didn't do quite as much; especially considering when she stumbled on serfs/feudalism in Russia.

I just can't see how she could have been known MORE for modernizing Russia than Peter.

That said, Michelle, do you have a copy of that list? ^^

was there a question about vietnam? or am i thinking about a practice test
