What was the answer to Jesuits in China? O.o?

mecca to medina isnt the hajj or hijrah or whatever it is. its medina to mecca.

so im not really sure. but i think its how he came back and then the calendar started

Jesuit introduce Chinese thought into Europe. That's the answer.

Matteo Ricci on Wikipedia

"Islamic years are also called Hijra years because the first year was the year during which the Hijra occurred— Muhammad's emigration from Mecca to Medina."

"Hegira or Hejira (both: hĭjī'rə, hĕj'ərə) [Ar.,=Hijra=breaking off of relations], the departure of the prophet Muhammad from Mecca in Sept., 622 [...] The Muslim era is dated from the first day (July 16, 622, in the Western calendar) of the lunar year in which the Hegira took place, and the abbreviation A.H. is used with that year (A.H. 1) and subsequent years." --Columbia Encyclopedia

Seems to indicate that it's the start of not only the Islamic calendar, but also of time as recorded by Islam... hmm?

i feel like marco polo more introduced chinese stuff to europe than matteo ricci, but i guess he still did it. so it works.

Wait, what? Wasn't it gunpowder? Nuoooo!

the only place where europeans were able to spread christianity was ethiopia. so i don't see how that answer choice can be right.
i remember another answer choice was that europeans felt more superior in indian than in africa

"Cannon technology in Europe gradually outpaced that of China and these technological improvements transferred back to China through Jesuit missionaries who were put in charge of cannon manufacture by the late Ming and early Qing emperors." Wait what?! Aaaahhh

was there a question about athens, or am i thinking of a practice?

can anyone list question & choices for india/africa?
i dont remember the question..

what do you think the curve is going to be?

Without these Jesuits, the Europeans would never have heard of Confucius.

In any case I feel much better than before. After I finished WH I felt a 750 would be great ... from the list I think I definitely got higher than 750, maybe an 800 though I wouldn't like to get my hopes up for nothing. Dec. 29? That's a lot of time. CB's taking a Christmas holiday?

About Athens? There was a Herodotus quote...

yeah we already have that one. hmm. im skimming over terms to see if something sparks something.

The Trans-Saharan Gold Trade (7th–14th century) | Thematic Essay | Timeline of Art History | The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Has a lot of information concerning the gold trade and Mali. O.o

Gunpowder could not be the answer.

Travel safely through space:
1492- Spanish "discover" America. Guns are already known by Europeans, and they readily use them to kill Indians.
Jesuits in China? Late 1500´s? Definitely after 1492 though. Gunpowder was known to Europe by then.

That said, I got the question wrong. I answered JEsuits opened ports.

Ming gunpowder is actually more advanced than Europe in China. It's Qing dynasty that forbidded the use of firearms.
Jesuits under Matteo Ricci met the Chinese and tried to unsuccessfully convert them. However during the process they also learned the Chinese custom and reported back to Europe.

was there one about who came to work in industrialized england and the answer was farmers from the enclosure movement? or am i thinking about a practice
