I put when making :)

i know it’s not making.
when making didn’t sound right…
so i just put whereas… which means it’s probably when making ):

Any others want to chime in on the very last question?

I had it narrowed down to No Change and the “people she didn’t know” option. I eventually went with “people she didn’t know,” because of an issue I had with the way “a show” was used in the original. I’m not terribly confident in that, though. Thoughts?

(Definitely ‘whiff.’)

^ Huh? What’s the question?

Embarrassing question… For the second one, the question was which one of these DOESN’T work, and I couldn’t decide between “over” and “into”. The sentence was something like- “He turned his bike _______ the bike path”

Also- I put “whiff”, and I put NO CHANGE for the last question.

i was confident it was “no change” because none of the answers seemed to have supported the point it was trying to make.

there was a question where it gave information about King George and asked where it would belog in the paragrpah… did u guys put it before the sentence that described the policy.

I put when making too… and whiff :). Its tone is too informal to use. And given the positive reaction to garbage by the author, aroma sounds like an appropriate fit.

And for the question about Pei’s receiving the price from Reagan, I put “it should not be inserted because it does not live up to the expectation set in the previous paragraph”. I put that because I thought that receiving a prize isn’t a “contribution”. Also, the two “yes” choices both fit, since one talked about “inserting a crucial piece of information” and the other was about “it described a specific contribution”. Since when is your most significant contribution to society receiving the “Medal of Liberty”? It might be his most significant accomplishment, but not contribution. Anyone else agree with me?

I put no change. The question asked which option showed her “commercial success and popularity.” Selling your work before a showing of your art even begins suggests both success and popularity, so it is certainly no change.

“over” i think. dont worry i had a littl etrouble w/ that too

What do the national museum, louvre, etc etc etc have in common?

What does the national museum, louvre, etc have in common?

Do vs does?

^ do

10char

thanks and whats the general consensus on the Monopoly one… ‘celebration of acquisition of property’ or ‘chance to experience acquisition of property’ ?

did the original sentence have “what do…” or “what does…”

what were the other answer choices for the medal of liberty one?

original sentence had ‘What does…’ i think

A lot of people said celebration of, and I had that, but I decided to put chance to experience for a lot of reasons, few of which I remember lol.

I think one of them was like, “How could someone celebrate that,” and another was along the lines of, “If they’re in the Great Depression, I think that the chance to experience the acquisition of property would make sense”

I’m not really sure though.

Also, as far as aroma/whiff go, I’m pretty sure it’s aroma. Whiff can be used in that sentence like it is used here: “I breathed in a whiff of fresh air.” It was looking for something negative, so aroma was appropriate due to its positive connotation.

I got a 35 English back in October, but I’m not feeling as confident on this one. I was questioning about 5 answers. I hate that feeling!

@Eagleforlife:

For the Pei Medal of Liberty question:

A) Yes, because it improves the logical flow of the paragraph. (ty maniteez)
B) Yes, because it described a specific contribution.
C) No, because it does not live up to the expectation set in the previous paragraph.
D) Don’t remember, but it was definitely wrong.

I picked C because A and B both makes sense, so they must be both wrong. Anyone else?

ellegee, one of the Yes answers was ‘because it improves the logical flow of the paragraph’ or something like that

hmm it sounds familar but im not able to pick out exactly what i picked, i think it might have been B…not sure anymore

I also got a 35 in October and thought this one was harder.

Anyway, it was “have taught/given” because there was more than one.

I put whiff because “overwhelming whiff” is a contradiction, and aroma, despite positive connotation, is still correct in definition. I thought this was the hardest though.

It was “do,” not “does.”

I put “celebration of.” I don’t really remember it, but I was pretty sure of it.

For Medal of Honor I chose B as listed above.
