December 2010-SAT II Biology E/M

… haha?

Pretty sure bicarbonate was the answer to that question

I just asked my bio teacher on whether bicarbonate in the blood serves more as a buffer or as a carbon-carrier, and she said buffer b/c the MAIN purpose is to regulate pH!

I think it’s the wording of the carbon cho1ce that makes it wrong-bicarbonate does not “CARRY” carbon. Rather, it CONTAINS carbon.

So I think buffer is the best one

If I skipped 8 questions out of 80 and I miss around 10-18 not including the ones I skipped (so 10-15 incorrect and 8 omitted), what type of score range would I get.

Can someone please post if I missed like 10-15 and then like 15-18 the possible scores I would get?

Thanks.

Anyone have a range for me? 600-630? 650-670? 670-700? Or under 600 lol? ty

According to my official CB book, you can miss up to 20 and still get 700.

results in 13 everyone!

Wow that’s so quick. I’m being so querulous about acceptance letters taking so long and I didn’t even realize SAT scores were coming so soon.

^did you apply ED, or are you just really anxious for RD letters, which usually come in April/May? LOL

I applied to a few schools EA and am going to do some more regular decision. The score on this test doesn’t matter at all to me since I already took 4 subject tests. I took it to save some money on score reports

For the clumping one I chose temperature -_-. Oh and bicarbonate is a buffer, it says it in the Barron’s.

The diagram with the bird, whale, shark, dinosaur and the sponge. Which was the first fossil record (or something like that, can’t remember the question)? I chose shark first and bird last…

What was that brain disease question? I never heard of anything like that lol. Left it out =/…

Oh and for those who took Bio-M, the question about the codons and RNA. Choices were like 100, 300, 900, and some other numbers. I chose 900? Is it right?

For fossil record thing, if it asked for order, the correct answer would be sponges, shark, dinosaur, bird, whale.

What brain disease question?

I agree. Echinoderm, shark, dinosaur, bird, whale

@charafberdai

It said which of the following is related to brain disease, something with osteoporosis.

results in 10! somebody should make a post 2-3 days before results are out

EDIT: new THREAD, not a post hehe my bad

So for the codon question, 100, 300, or 900?

3 nucleotides per codon. 3x300=900. I think that’s what the question involved.

Ok good! That’s what I put.

everybody check out the new thread I made for Dec 2010 bio RESULTS! go on my profile/SAT Subject Test Preparation section to see it
