@michaelgscarn, what was your multiple choice subscore for writing?

2390!!!

800 CR
800 W 80/12
790 M

Do you think it’d hurt me though? I took the SAT 4 times and I got
2050–>2180–>2250–>2390

depends on the school… some colleges won’t even know you took it more than once (although they will assume so since you got 2390 in december).

Even colleges like Yale will probably not hold it against you since you showed determination and honesty by honoring their score choice policy.

I wouldn’t worry.

***By the way I’m in a similar position

2080—>2230—>2230—>2300

Hey I got my scores too where can I see what the curve was and how harsh is it especially for the CR? :)

when the score reports come out

1900… CR 690 M 550 W 660

That’s not too bad for a first time of someone who didn’t study, right…? If I study and retake it in January, should it be too difficult to get to 2000+?

You people are crazy! 2050 for me, and I’m satisfied, but I will try to do better next time. Why are you all so disappointed with your incredible scores? I know you expect the best from yourselves, and I applaud that.

However, I hope that your SAT score is the biggest of your worries, and you don’t all have real problems to worry about. Congrats to all of you on these fantastic scores (no matter what you keep telling yourselves)!

wait, guys how do you see your writing mc score/essay score?

@kokome- DId you try opening up your score window? GO to ur colleboard account, go to my scores, and then your writing score should be there…

@kokome like it would say 78MC/11 essay (800)

oh all these scores here make me so disappointed :(

Chinaboys sure benefited from the generous curve… -2 and no 12 and still an 800? That’s insanity…

I went to “My SAT” under “My Scores” and all it says is

No MC score or essay score.

Yeah, you’re right. I’m super pumped about my scores, but they’re just one thing in a 10+ list of criteria for college apps. People, focus on your individual scores, don’t let other people be an indicator of who you are, most importantly as a person. People applying to colleges don’t go around saying “I got a 2390 SAT. I was crushed. The end.”, they talk about their life experiences and the factors that make them who they are.

“Chinaboys sure benefited from the generous curve… -2 and no 12 and still an 800? That’s insanity…”

Haha tell me about it. I got an 11 with a 75 MC and still got a 790.
Also, juniors, look at this guide. I got two 8s, found that guide literally 1 day before I took the SAT, and got an 11. I’m sure with some more preparation you could easily get a 12 as promised.

@Nihility
As a matter of fact, writing did have a generous curve now that I think about it. Does a 79 MC exist? What is the question difference between 77,78,and 80MC. It looks as if math had the toughest curve with -3 being a 700 and -1 being a 760…

@kokome
Maybe ask your friends, I really don’t know.

@imwishing - Well, people have different expectations of themselves and different ability levels… For some, a 1600 is their best, and for others, anything less than a perfect score is gonna be disappointing. Especially if you put in a lot of effort to it. That’s why people are complaining about seemingly awesome scores, haha.

It’s not a full ride it is full tuition/

When I saw my score, I literally laughed, then ***-ed.

I swear I’m not trolling or anything…I didn’t prepare for this at all, and I’m a senior taking SAT for the first time. Goes to show that vocab cramming isn’t necessary.

@stanfordoc Congrats haha, that’s pretty crazy. I joked about it before the test, “wouldn’t it be totally crazy if you went in there without having studied and just happened to guess all the right answers and get the perfect score??” …I guess it’s possible…?? lol.
