December ACT 2008 English

Crap. I just remembered another question.

NASA passage: It was one of the first ones.

The first part of the sentence said that the Greeks identified Mars as being the planet of death(some thing scary) and Americans__________. The question asked which of the folowing phrases best supports that people thought of Mars as scary.

A No change (wrong)
B thought mars was out of control
C Made spine tingling movie of little green men
D I forgot

I chose C because doesn't spine tingling movies give a sense of scariness?

It's definitely C

@zab

yes it is the one with the hyphen

Yes, it was age-old

Yes, it was green men/spine tingling sensation

I agree with both of quicksand's answers.

so there was an answer choice that said "age old" and "age-old"?

"And for where the phrase NOT placed... "after cause""

Does anyone remember roughly what the sentence asked? I don't remember what I put for this one

I remember that question a little.

The phrase COULD be placed at the very beginning and they very end of the sentence. I said it could NOT be placed right before the ''and'' in the sentence.

blah blah blah______ and jobs blah blah

No they were "old age" and "age-old," but "age-old" is the answer.

i put age-old also. plus the passage about mars what was the one at the very beginning of the story where it asked something about scientists? i know one of the choices was like best-selling authors? i can't remember which one i put!

this was my first act, no prep at all, and i just felt really really good about this english section. i finished with 15 minutes to spare, no exaggeration, and i went back and corrected a few. hoping for 34-36 on it. (maybe being on school newspaper helps?)
