Hi,
I’m currently a senior that still has to finish SAT 2 tests. I’m taking the November date but I know for sure I will have to retake Biology in December. Most colleges I’m applying to have RD deadlines in early January so should in send in my scores blind to them? Should I wait until scores are released (22nd) and THEN send them in? Would that be too late and would they still accept my scores? Thanks!
“Should I wait until scores are released (22nd) and THEN send them in?” Yes, assuming that the SAT 2’s are recommended and not required.
@londondad but if they’re recommended, I think I heard that it takes around 2 weeks for scores to arrive. They would still accept my application if it arrives later than the deadline?
You should check with the school but for most schools (particularly private ones) if you order the scores sent on, say 12/23 and they get there two weeks later in early January, that should be fine. Many schools even accept January and even February SAT/ACTs as these schools are not having their admissions committees until late Feb or early March anyway. If your scores are good in December you should self report them on the Common App, so the school will at least be aware of your scores.
Thank you! This really helped
Most colleges accept scores that arrive after Jan 1 application deadline. However, some actually require things to be in their hands by the app deadline. The way to assure that for the Dec test is to identify the colleges in your test registration as ones to automatically recieve scores upon release; in essence send the scores without knowing what they are. Typically, If you do that, CB usually sends the scores electronically about a day to two before you even get them online, and, because of electronic sending method, the college formally receives the scores the same date (although many take their time downlioading the scores and matching them with online application files).
