80% for Choate, Hotchkiss, and Andover. Please kill me now.

aubreygal - that’s a perfectly acceptable score! Stop complaining!!! If you have good grades to back up your scores, then you will be fine. And I’m sure you do if you’re applying to those three schools!

I’m actually surprised at so many unexpected scores shocking fellow applicants. Either the SSAT is an unreliable way to compare test takers’ academic ability (badly designed test?), or it is a reliable way (test takers overestimating themselves?).

The website said I should get the results today. They were not in the mail. Do they get delivered by UPS? uugghh!!! And why would email be more money? That makes no sense!

I didn’t get mine either!!! ■■■!!! I came home early from my friends house all excited to see them, but no. Plus, I’m going on vacation tomorrow!!! If they don’t come before I go, I’m going to get them emailed. I’ll pay with my own money if I have to!

Your overall average is determined by comparing your overall score to the overall score of test takers in your grade that took the test within the past three years. It’s not calculated by adding up your three percentages and dividing by 3 So if you have a 97% overall average, then your overall test score is better than 97% of the people who took the test in the past three years that in your grade.

@ballerina22 Really, you think so? I guess I have to stop being so hard on myself. Thank you!!! (PS I got mine e-mailed I think it was worth it, I’m leaving tomorrow for vacation too and I would have died not being able to see them lol )

How long did it take them to arrive by email? My mail came today and again, no scores. I’m leaving for the airport in an hour and just requested to have them emailed. Hopefully they’ll come before my flight takes off!!!

I’m so happy! Mine came and I did exceptionally well. Although math did kick my butt. I have the same score as I had the first time I took the test. So, much for that $150 a tutoring session.

That stinks Oh well, I know you and I think you have a great chance regardless!!

Well. I got in the 83rd percentile for this test.

Verbal 86
Math 79
…And a heart-breaking 61 for reading.

Are my chances for 3 of the HADES Schools completely crushed now? I wish I could retake, but I can’t. I have an interview with PEA then… I’m so scared. D:

That means overall you did better than 83% of the people that took the test in the past 3 years. That’s a GREAT score, don’t stress about it SSATs will NOT be the deciding factor in your application, unless you get a horrible score. Exeter’s average is a 90% on SSAT, and your score is definitely in the range of an acceptable score. Trust me, your scores are fine. Scores are only a back-up for your app/grades. I’d say is your score was <75% it’d be a problem at some schools, more selective schools prefer >80%. Focus on having great interviews and killer essays. Those will carry more weight in your app.

Oh my gosh, haha, that’s so reassuring to hear Thanks so much!
It was definitely a lot harder than the practice tests I’ve taken, that’s for sure. -___-

But thanks so much!
