Hi, I'm a junior in hs, but my counselor says I should start making college lists.
I'd really love to get into a top-tier school, especially Columbia. These are my creds

Biracial female - half Polish half Bengali
Decent GPA, probably around a 3.8 uw
4 AP classes junior year (eng, calc ab, bio, amer hist)
4 AP classes senior year (usgov, stat, eng, chem)

SAT score will probably be at least a 2100. I haven't taken it yet, but my PSAT was a 214.

SAT II scores:
bio 740
chem 750
mathII 660 I totally goofed on this one and I'm taking it over in june

Extracurrics:
Model Congress
Model UN
NHS
Pre Med Club
And Waksmans which is this student research org that works with the genetics department at the local university
Might be going to Gov school this summer

Community service at local hospital

Do I have at least a shot at Columbia? What are my chances at other top tier schools?

You really need to improve your extra-curriculars. Even if you had 2400 SAT and 2400 combined 3 SAT IIs, columbia would be a reach if your ECs don't improve. You need about 2200 SAT, get your MATH II subject test up to 730+ and work toward some leadership positions and you will have a chance. Or else, from your ECs, it will be a difficult to get into ANY top-tier school. Best of luck!

Thanks. Just curious, how can I improve my ECs? Just through leadership positions? I'm a lab assistant for my student research group and I'll probably have a leadership position in model UN and i might have a higher one in my student research group. Would it help to mention that I have a couple first place awards from MUN and MC and a lot of other awards from that and italian honor society?
