Decent Class Rank?

In a class of 740, what would be considered a decent class rank to be considered for admission?

And also...what do you think the MINIMUM class rank would be? Is there a cutoff below which they won't admit anyone, no matter how good their test scores are?

Thanks!

top 90 or so. basically what i was.

In a class of approximately 375-385, is a class rank of top 10% good enough? If my SAT is exactly 50%ile for LAS?

Isn't top 10% the basic standard for most state schools? I could be wrong but I always thought that it was... hmm, I think if your essays are strong you should be fine though it doesn't hurt to bump up that SAT score.

From the PR website, UIUC has 48% in top 10% and 99% in top 50%. I would think that there would be more since UIUC is a state school?

For LAS, the 25th and 75th percentiles are roughly top 20% and top 5%, so top 10% is a decent class rank. Engineering and Business are considerably more selective.

im in the top 35 percent, and got into aviation. my SAT scores were way above the 75th percentile for aviation though.

I was in the GASP top 25% and got into business so aim for 1st quartile and KILL on the ACT

No.. don't aim at first quartile. Just try your best and get in at least top 15% or top 10% to be safe.
