Decided my major in summer after junior year, not really any ECs that show interest in said major...

Hi all, I only decided during this summer that I'd like to major in comp sci after taking an online Java course and loving it. Problem is, I don't have any ECs that show involvement in such a passion. The closest I have is the fact that I'm a strong math student (800 Sat 1 and sat 2 math 2, 36 act math, calc bc in 11th with a 5, multivariable in 12th), a strong science student (800 chem, 5 on ap chem and 4 on bio (self study), national chem olympiad finalist), and that im taking AP comp sci in 12th along with AP stat and AP physics.

im planning on applying to top schools for comp sci, so is it best if i just dont worry about this and hope that a solid application makes my prospective major unimportant, or should i mention that my desire to do comp sci developed (and is still developing) over the summer?

Thanks :)

Yes. The fact is, many students who have zero experience are accepted to top CS departments across the country into prestigious colleges such as CMU, UMich, UCB. You just need to prove that you have the passion and the intellectual mindset to pursue that.

@viphan‌ thank you!
