Deciding between: Kelly School Business @ IU (Indiana) or Univ Illinois (UIUC) Liberal Arts Program

My daughter will be an incoming freshman in the fall. She has been accepted to many schools (including UConn & Syracuse Univ) Business Schools and U Maryland, Colorado and American University), but as of now we have whittled down the choices to IU or UIUC.

She wants to study business as of now (though that could change), and is a direct admit to IU’s Kelly School of Business.

She was NOT admitted to Univ of IL’s business school, but rather was accepted as a Liberal Arts major for foreign language.

We know that UIUC is considered an (overall) better school with #41 ranking in US News/World Report, but Kelly School/Business is well ranked and recognized. She wants a school with a good sports program and Greek life (which they both offer). We would be coming from out-of-state for both, as she is a California resident - so money is not really that much of a factor.

At this point, we just don’t know which way she should go. It’s a hard dilemma, so we’d really appreciate any advice and thoughts.

Thanks!

Lots of kids in Illinois prefer IU over UIUC due to similar costs and better student life. If you are paying OOS for both, IU makes more sense especially since it is significantly cheaper and she did not get a direct admit into her preferred school.
