Yes. They will be giving me 30,000 a year. And are you saying that there is no possible way I could go to Miami because I can only borrow 5,500 per year? I’m sorry I am not very educated in financial aid.

Yes, you can only borrow $5500 for your frosh year. Your parents would have to co-sign more…bad idea.

There are many choices you could consider with the $30k from your parents and $5,500 from a loan.

BTW…SIU would be a challenge for you. ALL good eng’g programs are a challenge.

I’m sorry that was just rude. This is a forum where people are supposed to help others with what they need help with, not pointing out random errors with their grammar.

Erin’s Dad has an excellent point for you to consider.

Any ABET engineering program is going to be rigorous. You will have to study hard, and this would be true even if you had absolutely perfect stats. It’s a tough major (I speak from experience!)

I’m just going to throw out there that choices of schools around existence of a frat and lacrosse team might play less of a role than you think. You won’t have a lot of time for frat parties. You won’t have a lot of time for a sport that requires you to travel (club sport that you can drop into might be doable, though.) Seriously - it is a demanding major. One is hard-pressed to finish the program in 4 years with taking a full load. Some of your professors may expect three hours of homework a night, two nights a week. It’ll cut into your play time/social life in a major way.

Best of luck to you regardless of where you end up deciding to go to college.

Was that really necessary? This is hardly what one would consider a formal setting. The OP is asking for advice on finding a school to study engineering AT. I rather doubt that grammar usage was the most important consideration in posting this thread.

I’m not sure if your telling that to me, but if you are, I just can’t see how it’s that hard to answer my original question without going in detail about random things that weren’t even involved in the original question
