Decision between TWO public universities

I got into UIUC Gies Business School and Purdue Engineering.
Since those two majors are very different, I don’t know what would be a better choice.
I’m not really good at Math or Science, so Engineering major seems to be very tough but it would be much useful when I think about my career in the future.
Also, I want to know how reputable the Business School in UIUC is.
I need some advice, comments, or anything. Thanks

The first year engineering program at Purdue is VERY math and physics heavy. That is the foundation for engineering and there is no getting around that.

That said, if you like Purdue better, it shouldn’t be that difficult to switch out of engineering (unless you are trying to get into CS).

Uiuc is an awesome business school. In accounting they are considered in some rankings as #1 in the country.

Perdue engineering is fantastic too.

My question is if you don’t like math or science why would you want to spend your life working in a math and science field like engineering.

Accounting is math. But it’s addition and subtraction. You’d have to fight through some higher math to get your degree. And finance and Econ is doable. Formula driven and regressions. Memory stuff. And business including finance positions in the real world and other specialities like marketing reward other skills like common sense, personal integrity, interpersonal communication and networking.

How in the world were you accepted to Purdue engineering if you are not good at math and science?

UIUC Gies Business School is excellent and very highly regarded. Why would you ever go to and engineering department, if you aren’t good at math or science, unless you are in love with the idea of dropping out after the first semester? I’ll echo @lostaccount - how were you even accepted to engineering at Purdue without acing classes like AP CalcBC and more advanced ones?

That makes choosing an engineering major a poor decision. It’s only “useful” if you actually manage to graduate with the degree
