decision but no letter?

FAT package arrived today!!!

Probably there were delays in sending out some packages last Friday, so they tried to make it up by sending them priority mail, as there is a big "PRIORITY MAIL" sticker slapped on the package. D got the decision online Tuesday, but just got the package today here in Maryland.

You will understand why everyone capitalizes the FAT word once you received your own letter. ;)

icylava, yes! I just received mine, but I, like Scottie, prefer "big-boned" ;)

This is pretty irrelevant, but I just gotta say I love the design of CMU's viewbooks (esp. this one). There are some schools that are more well-known but that don't take the time and effort to make aesthetically pleasing viewbooks, and it just makes me want to go to CMU more :)

Based on the postings above I re-read the letter my D received. There isn't any mention of merit scholarships in the letter and there is a large suspicious blank space on the bottom of the first page where I am guessing the scholarship information usually would go. So I am assuming that she didn't get offered any money. We likely won't qualify for need-based aid so my excitement about her CMU acceptance is not as high as it was initially. But we will see how everything works out with her other admission decisions. I still think it's a great school.

NJ - got fat letter yesterday (3/27/09)

On my list of documents that CMU sent:

23-feb-2009 Decision Notification Letter

What is that? They couldnt have had my decision that early. Also, I haven’t received anything yet…

don’t trust what they have on the tracking page too much…

Thats the day that they processed your decision letter out of their office. They are all held to be mailed until this time of month.

Thats what has confused a lot of people on CC and made them mistrust the online system. It notes when it left the admissions office, not when it left the post office.

oh. hmm. i sent in my mid year report after that date. ummm…does that mean i probably won’t get in?

Many have said that they can change the letters even after that date, but a mid year report - unless drastically different - probably wouldnt have swayed them either way.

What I mean by that is that it has an equal chance of meaning you got in as it does meaning you got rejected. Youll just have to wait and find out.
