Hi so I have narrowed down my decisions between these two schools. Rochester institute of technology vs umass Amherst. I'd like to do engineering. Most likely chemical engineering. Umass Amherst has a decent engineering program, is cheap, and will probably be more fun. But RIT stresses co ops and seems to be better academically. Also I live in ma so I get instate while RIT has a terrible male-female ratio 70-30. So idk which to choose. Umass Amherst also has a few co ops. So can someone go in detail about engineering/co op in these schools? Or tell me which you would choose?

RIT’s chemical engineering program is not yet accredited. Still a few years away.

S chose UMass over RIT. We are instate, so UMass is a lot cheaper, and US News and World Report has their engineering more highly rated than RIT among many others. Plus, Amherst is a very neat college town.
