Decision notification by email or postal mail?

Can those of you who have been accepted already let me know if they got their decisions through email first, or by postal mail ? Also does the online status show the decision immediately?

Received it on a Saturday on the bealonghorn website and the paper acceptance came over a week later.

I frankly don't really know when my online acceptance came (I didn't check my application status online everyday, last time I checked was the time of my application around February 1st).

I only checked my status when I received an email inviting me to the Admitted Longhorn Roundup that occurred this past weekend (and then I checked my status online and saw that I was accepted). Got the email last week 2/26, about 3 weeks after I finished applying to UT. The official letter came about 2-3 days afterwards and was dated 2/22.

So, UT does notify both online and by snail mail. Obviously, online notification is much faster, so be sure to check online often--chances are that UT's online decision is released earlier than the snail mail version.

I hadn't been in the habit of checking my status online because I wasn't expecting to hear anything for a while, so I was very surprised to get my acceptance via snail mail on October 25. I don't know when they posted the online status. The letter was dated October 23 so I'm assuming it was on the 23rd.

You do not receive an email of any form for the actual acceptance notice, though they may send additional stuff to your email.

It may be an OOS thing, but I got an e-mail congratulating me for getting in the same day that I found out online and asking if I had any questions to ask a current student.

But yeah, you would be told online first, then you would recieve a letter 2-5 business days afterwards (depending on how far away from the school you are- I recieved mine about a week later but I live in VA). And I believe that they update the admissions check everyday, so I usually checked when I woke up in the morning.

I found out just by randomly checking my status about 2 days after I submitted my application and it said that I had been admitted. Then I checked my email about a day later and it told me I had been accepted. And THEN I received a letter via postal mail about 5 days later I think.
