Decision Timing and Accepted Students Weekend

Does anyone have any idea:

1) When decisions will come out? Will they really make us wait until April 1st?

2) When the Accepted Students Weekend is? On the chance that my S does get accepted, we are trying to figure out what weekends we need to leave open just in case.

I think I asked during a call to Admissions. I have down April 19-20 as Admit Weekend, Sunday-Monday.

Last year they e-mailed decisions to international students on March 27. Hopefully, it should come before April 1st.

I mailed them and they said that they couldnt gimme an exact date but it would be before April 1st :D

I spoke to an amazing representative in the Admissions Office. Hahahaa. She told me that the official date is April 1st, but start checking your e-mail in the last week of March. At hearing that I started laughing over the phone, and I asked if that was a nice little secret message for me, and she was like yes, they do release decisions slightly early unofficially, and keep April 1st just to be on the safe side...and she was laughing loudly too!

Haha.. what an amazingly fun bunch of people.

For only international applicants, I assume?

I think so. They seem to send the emails to internationals the same day they put the US decisions in the mail, so you have to allow time for it to get to you.

last week

yay :)

I want decisions nownownow.

MIT rejected. How about Harvey? :(

:) they've sent out decisions already! i've gotten mine!

Admitted Student Program is Sunday April 19th through Monday April 20th. Check in is at 9 am on Sunday with the program starting at 10:30. It runs through mid afternoon on Monday. There is a program for parents as well as the student program.

Thanks for the info. Now just lets hope we actually need it (hope to hear today!)

We received the decision envelope in Texas in the mail today. That was faster than I was anticipating.

Has anyone on the east coast received a letter? If so where do you live?

Yipee, my son gothis acceptance today. We are in Washington state (as the name would suggest)

@Wamom - congrats to your son. In addition to going to prefrosh weekend (good times), if he decides to go to mudd, he should definitely go to the new students thingy that they hold around seattle. Its a great chance to meet current mudders as well as the new students from the area, as well as find out details such as good flights to take, the nearest Ikea/Costco/Bail Bondsman/Donutman to HMC, etc.

My son in as well. From WA.

CUej - Thanks. I'm sure we will go to the Seattle new students thing. Is the date in the letter (haven't actually seen it yet) or do you know when it is. You seem very knowledgeable, are you a current student?

holmspoint - congrats to your son as well. Doyou think he'll accept?

Out of curiosity, does being on the west coast increase chances of admission?
