Decisions are out!

I got in College of Arts and Sciences!!! I had applied for trustee but in my status they dont mention anything about it...Does it mean I didnt take it or they will send it by mail??

umm...ok my EFC was 13,000 but i only got 16,500 in aid....what is up with BU?

Wow...I was expecting to barely get into the school and I got in with a half tuition scholarship! I guess after my experience with NYU GSP...and absolutely no money of course...I had very low expectations. Screw NYU...Boston U is now cheaper than Northeastern for me!!

I am a "University Scholar" and was accepted into the College of Communication. It says just for the 08/09 school year though...but it also says on the paper that it's renewable...can I expect to have it all 4 years?

I would rather go to Boston U than NYU too and got into both. Though, I haven't seen my aid for NYU yet. I'll bet it can't beat this, though.

Jlee28 what were ur stats if u dont mind me askin...

Well I'm new here and not very good at these, but no problem :)

Decision: ACCEPTED to Communications

Stats:
SAT: 2090/2400
ACT: 29
SAT IIs: 600 US History, 700 Literature
GPA: 4.0 unweighted, 4.2 weighted
Rank: N/A (probably top 15/150+ though)
Other stats:
Subjective:
Essays: I want to major in Journalism and writing is my thing...so pretty good I think
Teacher Recs: Amazing...all the teachers love me
Counselor Rec: Okay, I don't know him that well
Hook (if any): Not sure
Location/Person:
State or Country: PA
School Type: Private, religious
Ethnicity: white
Gender: Female
Other Factors: Half tuition

Is that okay? I work in the newspaper staff, volunteer several hours per week, am in NHS, am on Honor Roll every semester and a few other things. I think I was borderline though because my SAT/ACT scores are a little low

Mine was 12,000 but I got like 32k in grants and like 8k in loans. But then again, my parents made 76k last year and will make around 54k this year. I put it on my CSS profile. I don't remember if Boston U asked for my profile, though.

I was accepted into the School of Management but I was a bit surprised that I only received $10k p/year via a Dean's Scholarship so that pretty much rules out BU for me (received better merit aid at my other schools) - granted its better than nothing. No hard feelings though. Best of luck to everyone - whether you decide to attend BU or head out elsewhere.

my efc was 8000 and i only got $14,000 in grants.

what gives? and is there any use in calling the school?

I GOT IN TODAY!
Congratulations everyone else who got in! :)

Yay! IN!!!!!!!
Got a great grant too!

Thanks a lot Jlee28 and Nickel..yea I'm going to appeal the decision because I'd love to go to BU but thats simply not enough money and Case Western is offering my over 36k...

^ wierd- Boston university is offerring me almost double the grant money case western is offerring me.
This admissions process is so random.

:) most likely not attending.

Congrats everyone!

Sweet! Congrats everyone! I got in too, but I got like no fin aid, so I'm probably not going to BU! :(

Accepted with Honors, half-tuition!

Puts BU on the table in a big way.

Congrats to everyone! I got accepted but will most defnintely not attend. My EFC was 0 and I received no grants whatsoever?! Anyone know I might be reading the financial aid package wrong? or I guess BU is just not meant to be...

Yeah, schools like BU make it very tough. If you are from a more humble background, the school will grant you alot of money if you absolutely cannot pay. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the rich can afford all the costs outright. It is the us in the middle-class to upper-middle-class majority that get screwed most of the time.
