I Got In !!!! From Deferred To Accepted!

I like how they always make the decision date a surprise. Congrats, CNI.

I know, phuriku. For EA, I came home from running and my computer said one new message. I saw UChicago and I was like, oh, it's probably just one of their updates (it was nearly two weeks before decisions were supposed to come out). I took a shower and then came back to my computer and read the email. Boy was I surprised. =)

Congrats everyone who was admitted.

I got in. Also went from deferred to accepted. Congrats to all who have just been accepted!

Waitlisted. I'm actually pretty happy about it cause I didn't think they'd even look at me. Now how do I get them to accept me?

Waitlisted...I'm in the same boat...trying to figure out what to do to get accepted.

Deferred to rejected. Right after I got deferred, if I had been told this would've been the outcome, I would've been very, very upset. But I'd already decided before I found out the decision today that if I got into Chicago, I almost definitely wouldn't go. I got into Wesleyan a little less than a week ago, and I would almost certainly have chosen Wesleyan over Chicago. Of course it doesn't feel good, but hey. For me, it doesn't really matter.

waitlist..... how do we stay on the waitlist without turning down all other schools?

I can't bring myself to click, "view letter". I'm so scared. How do you make yourself do it?

I think you can accept a place at a school you got into and send in the deposit, but stay on the waitlist. If you get into Chicago off the waitlist, you give up the deposit you sent in already and enroll at Chicago. If not, you're still enrolled at the other school.

But I'm not 100% sure I have it right.

You don't. If you choose to accept the waitlist you will do so, then accept and deposit at the school you choose from those that accept you. If you get into Chicago off the waitlist you then have the choice to accept the spot at Chicago and lose your other deposit, or to reject the Chicago offer and matriculate at your chosen school.

Sorry, Adaman has it right!

oh, ok, taht kinda makes sence, wait lists are DUMB THOUGH omg, almost prefer rejection.... idk whether to stay on it or not, csoue i know the chances of being taken off are uber slim

rejected............. Looks like I am never going to be able to get the hell out of Idaho. Now that I haven't got into here, my hopes for all of my other schools are pretty much smashed. I have never worked harder on anything in my life than I did on my UChicago application, but sometimes the best isn't good enough. Good luck to everyone, it was a fun dream while it lasted.

Congrats to accepted students!

deferred early, now waitlisted. Why can't they just give me a real decision? finding out today was a surprise though. Not sure if I'm going to accept a place on the waitlist.

I got in! yay!
