Decisions are up

rejected :(

Rejected :(

Now I actually have to decide between Cal, UCLA and Cornell...

Waitlisted.

UPenn?

rejected....expected after rejection from brown and waitlist at columbia. why did i think i was good enough for these schools again?

reeeeeeeeeeeeejected

fromwhenceyoucame, I share in your lagrimas.

After spending months on my applications, I got rejected from Brown AND Stanford within less than 24 hours. Obviously, they're both really difficult schools to get into, and I know I'm not the only one who didn't get in, but God, it really does hurt. Especially Stanford, since I've loved it ever since sixth grade. But I was accepted at many other great places, and I'm very glad about that.

And besides, grad school applications are only four years away. I can always try again for Stanford then!

" rejected... and wow, Stanford's rejection letter is by far the best one I've seen ;o "

could anyone post the reject letter ?

I write to notify you that we are, regrettably, unable to offer you admission to Stanford University for fall 2006. I appreciate the thought and effort you put into your application and into selecting Stanford as one of your college choices. The overall strength of our applicant pool and relatively small size of our freshman class means that we disappoint the majority of our applicants each year. I am personally sorry to share this disappointment with you.

More detailed information about our decision, as well as the answers to the most commonly asked questions about the admission process at Stanford, will be enclosed in the letter you will receive in the coming days.

With all best wishes to you for a very bright future,

Richard H. Shaw
Dean of Admission and Financial Aid

And it has the Stanford emblem on it. It's short and sweet, looks clean, organized, professional, and worded in a way that makes me warm inside.

I think this Stanford rejection letter just topped Northwestern for being the "best rejection letter." Harvard's was the worst as it was plain black and white without any sort of color and used diction that I felt let me down the least gently. That letter was very... EWW. Columbia's wait list letter actually had color, so even if it was a rejection, it'd top Harvard's digusting letter. Yale's was short and concise, but also boring with very little flavor.... yet it was still worded better than Harvard's, so it is in second last. I don't know what it was about Northwestern's rejection letter, but I felt rather calmed by it after my initial surprise of a rejection. But Stanford's rejection letter tops them all.

Wooooo. California here i come

yeah, sure. For some reason it doesn't bring back any warm and fuzzies for me. "D" received that same letter back in December. Didn't like it then, and I still don't.

I think Harvard's rejection letter was nicer. But Stanford's is nicer than Yale's. But maybe that's unfair, considering I skimmed Harvard's, while I pored over every word of Stanford's.

I agree, "D" loved Harvard's letter - believe it or not. She kept reading it saying, "this is the nicest rejection letter I've seen." Said she almost didn't mind being rejected they were so nice.....

I have a love/hate relationship with stanford now. I loved the school, but now I hate them for rejecting so many people.

It seems like a lot of people were rejected from this board which is pretty scary. I guess I expected it but rejection still hurts. Oh well, it's either Penn's Wharton or Gtown for me. Not as nice weather as Cali but still good schools.

ah it sucks but in the end I bet we will look back at this and laugh at how much thought we put into it.

Just wondering, anybody applying as a transfer next year?

also, what was the acceptance rate this year?

rejected...but oh well...

at the end of the day, it is a rejection. i dont care how the letter is :(

how in the world do you see if you got in or not??? i'm on teh website logged in. this is all i see:

Decisions will be available Friday, March 31 after 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Please disregard any information regarding the status of your application.

maybe this is the test to get into the school. the final; test. but i am failing.
