I see a lot of you who applied to Stanford EA, and it seems many were waitlisted/rejected. Who applied to both schools? What was the verdict? I'm especially curious about the fate of those accepted at Stanford...

I also applied Stanford SCEA but was deferred. Thankfully I got accepted to Yale today AND got the phone call for deferees from Stanford so I'm now accepted there also.
I have no idea what school I'm going to end up at.... (also accepted at Harvard, Duke, Amherst (which I'm not going to))

Hmm... it seems that getting rejected/deferred at Stanford EA increases your chances at Yale and getting in Stanford EA makes it impossible to actually get in Yale RD... if only that were really true! sigh I'm indulging in self pity until tomorrow afternoon and then I promise to stop.

This kind of goes with the trend- my sister was accepted at Stanford EA but rejected to Yale. I came on to see what geniuses could possibly have beat her (family members have a right to be indignant too)
anyways my mom maintains that other colleges know if you were accepted early at another ivy or ivylike school. I am skeptical but it would go along with your theory.

I was also accepted to Stanford SCEA, but rejected at Yale and Harvard.

I definitely think that being accepted to one school early makes it very difficult to be accepted RD. Both my Y and H interviewers knew that I was accepted EA to Stanford

aisforapple, how did both interviewers know that you were accepted EA to Stanford? Did they ask you directly? It seems that if HYS would compare lists to make sure that no one applied to two schools early, it would be pretty simple to figure out if they were accepted to one of the other schools early. I doubt that they do, but it would be easy enough to arrange. I do wonder if my college counselor said anything though...
