@mochahappiness — I understand that this is a really bad time for Japan, may Allah help you all. And given the preparedness of your country regarding such disasters and the support of others, I’m sure people who’re affected will be able to rebuild their soon.

Mochahappiness, I’m glad that you and your family and friends are all safe! I have a few friends in japan so I was very worried when I heard about the news. I completely understand your rant- decisions may seem like the world to us right now, but it is not, by far, the most important thing in our lives. Instead of worrying and “over-preparing” for the future, perhaps we should all try to live more in the moment. Of course, this is easy to say but hard to do. When I do try, however, the world truly seems like a magical place. =)
Anyway, good luck to you! I think I most likely won’t get in but I’ll continue to hope.

@Chris,

To me, it is more reasonable to say that they will accept 926 students and start at 5:358…

can somebody tell me the double rainbow reference on mit?

That is the youtube video Double Rainbow. Also, there is something called a rainbow chart which is some sort of scientific thing…I don’t really know what it is specifically but I’m sure plenty of MITers know what Chris is talking about.

Rainbow chart: [Rainbow table - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Rainbow table - Wikipedia)

Basically, it a precomputed table for going from an encrypted password to the actual password.
