I'm on the college hunt! I'm searching for a wonderful geology school (namely with a good seismology/volcanology program), but it has to be in the northeast - nothing west of Pennsylvania and nothing south of Virginia. Not only that, but it has to be kind to the students with major financial problems, or else I'll end up at a community college, which I would prefer NOT happen (I want as far away from my state as possible!).

I've been using collegeboard.com a lot, searching rankings, etc., but nothing seems to jump out at me. I'm not allowed to visit any colleges until I've narrowed a list down to ten, but that seems impossible at this point.

Any input or information would be outstandingly helpful. Please give a source, however, so I might look up further information if interested.

Thank you in advance, from a very stressed-out student!
