Input to decision. DS accepted to Ohio University with full tuition in their Engineering college and Penn State Engineering with no aid of course. I know one has a much more regarded program but is it worth the extra cost?? We are talking graduating debt free vs. not for undergrad.
As long as Ohio’s program is ABET accredited, I think it is the way to go. Use the savings for a graduate degree from a top program. Congratulations to your son!
A master’s degree at any university is worth twice as much as a bachelors at a top university. You’re much better off going to Ohio University.
@monylynn For most engineering programs, the critical thing is to graduate. Be sure to compare the graduation rates, and tutoring support for students in freshman and sophomore engineering when most students drop out of engineering.
The range of salaries is fairly narrow for most engineering graduates. Most schools can provide placement data and salary ranges. Those are worth checking too.
Computer Science is different than other engineering majors. If you are considering CS, I would approach it differently because It is more complex with a very wide range of potential outcomes.
